Status with People

Love all people and children…never meet a stranger. I can be jumpy in joyful exuberance, so ignore me until four paws are on the floor and then praise me. I’m good with children and gentle with them, but have no concept of personal space. I can be eye level with smaller children, so children should be experienced around happy, bouncy dogs and sturdy on their feet.

Status with Dogs

Great with other dogs and love to play. I understand dog communication well and take cues from other dogs. I love to run, wrestle, play and play tug with my two Golden foster brothers.  We love a good game of “bitey face” on the couch. Neutral to submissive in temperament  and share my toys nicely with my dog friends. I could easily be bullied by other dogs or too many dogs at once. My dog companion/friends should not be dominant or over bearing with me.

Status with Cats

Met a cat at the pet store. Sniffed and moved on, so should be fine with cats.

Favorite Toys

Love all toys and balls.  Love to chase the ball, but giving it back is not my strong suit. I’m a stuffy “murderer” so I need brands such as Fluff and Tuff, Go Dog, Huggle Hound, Kong, Tuffy.

Energy Level

High energy, but settle down nicely for snuggles on the couch after exercise and playtime.

House Trained

Yes, and will go to the door and stare. I go out often because I play a lot with my Golden foster brothers. ***AGN recommends that you train me to Poochie Bells so that I can give you clear communication that I need to potty.

Crate Trained

No, a crate is not used in my foster home. I do great hanging out with my furry foster brothers if you leave, but one of my foster parents are usually home. I sleep in a dog bed in my foster parents’ room at night.

House Manners

Puppy Proof!!! Still and older puppy and will chew things that I think are mine (pillows, shoes, eye glasses, etc.) . Just teach me in a force free/positive manner what’s mine as I’m eager to please.  I’m well behaved overall for an older puppy, but I’ll chew if bored or pent up energy. I’m all about snuggling and playing on the couch. I’m a lap dog and have no concept of personal space. If this is not your thing, then I’m not the dog for you!

Leash Manners

Need some positive reinforcement work on a leash.  A Walk Your Dog with Love harness, PetSafe Easy Walk, Ruffwear Front Range harness is important for me. I get excited to go for walks so a no-pull harness is key! Let me sniff on my walks as it’s great mental stimulation.

Exercise

Older pup with lots of energy, so must get significant daily exercise and playtime with my dog buddies. I need to get out and about for fun adventures…walking, hiking, playing with my dog friends, etc.  I need physical exercise, mental stimulation and canine enrichment. A tired pup is a good pup!

Car Rides

Good in the car, but need a little coaxing to get in.  Put treats randomly in the backseat for me to find and I’ll associate the car with positive things.

Basic Commands

Sit. I’m super smart and eager to please, so let’s learn more tricks.  

Things I need in my Forever Home

• Someone who desires an energetic older puppy who lives to snuggle up with his humans and other dogs…a pup who has no concept of personal space and wants to be as close as possible
• Active family that likes to exercise daily by taking lots of walks, hikes, and fun outdoor adventures. I need a family that loves exercise and fun outdoor activities and wants a doggy companion by their side
• Someone who doesn’t work, works from home or works part time as I’m used to my family being home with me and my furry siblings. I thrive in this environment because I’m young and active and need someone with the time to commit to my exercise and training. I also go out to potty every few hours during the day
• Children would be great! I love them and am great with them. I’m gentle with small children and used to being around my foster parents grandchildren, but they should be dog experienced as I’ll happily get up in their face
• Force Free/Positive reinforcement obedience training classes REQUIRED – this will help us bond and build our relationship and it’s so much fun. ***AGN recommends dogsandkat.com
• I’d prefer a playful dog that will run, wrestle, share toys and snuggle with me. ***I can be easily bullied by strong personality dogs, so my dog companion should be neutral and gentle in temperament
• I might be okay as an only dog if I had children to play with, but AGN cannot confirm. You’d definitely need to be my best friend and get me regular socialization with dog friends
• I’m a pup who’ll be with you on your couch and maybe in your bed. If that’s not want you’re looking for then I’m not the pup for you. I truly am one of the snuggliest pups ever!
