Meet Pebbles
Hi, I’m Pebbles. I’m a 1 year old Golden Retriever. DOB: 3/9/24. I weigh approximately 75 pounds. I came in a little chunky, but I’m getting close to my ideal weight thanks to a healthy diet and exercise.
I was surrendered to AGN because my previous owners didn’t have time for the needs of a puppy. I’m a handful of sweetness, fun and energy, so I’m looking for a family who has the time, energy and commitment to meet my needs. I need physical exercise, mental stimulation and canine enrichment activities to thrive! Are you ready to be my ultimate companion?
Attributes

Personality Traits
Happy, sweet, loving, goofy, velcro shadow who’s eager to learn and eager to please! Typical 1 year old Golden who’s the perfect combination of being in the middle of everything fun to being able to entertain myself with my toys. I’m a great young Golden with so much potential! My personality is lovely!

Status with People
Social and friendly with everyone. Enjoy affection and attention from all who’ll share it with me. I’ll even put my head under your hand to help in your petting efforts. Good with children, but I’m jumpy in joyful exuberance as an older puppy. Children should be older and sturdy on their feet. Children or the elderly could accidently get knocked down.

Status with Dogs
Great with other dogs and learning all about dog communication. I was an only dog, but now I have two furry foster siblings to play with. I’ve learned a lot from them. I try hard to fit into the doggy pack and mimic what I see the other dogs doing. I love to run, romp, play and wrestle. I also love to snuggle on the couch and dog beds with my furry foster siblings.

Status with Cats
Unknown as I do not have cats in my foster home or my previous home. I’ll try to chase them and other critters if I see them on walks.

Favorite Toys
All toys are my friend! Stuffy toys, squeaky toys, balls, chew bones. I love to go “shopping” in the toy basket. I’ll sometimes pull each toy out and play with it. I’ll need a plethora of toys in my forever home!

Energy Level
Typical high energy. Although an older puppy who plays, runs and romps a lot with the other Retrievers in my home, I’ll settle down nicely and snuggle when I’ve gotten my energy out. I get a lot of exercise, and playtime with my Retriever siblings. And I’m all about some good “zoomies” after dinner time. Without this high level of exercise and playtime with my dog friends, my energy level will increase.

House Trained
Yes, I’ll paw at you insistently until you get up and take me out to potty.
***AGN recommends that you train my to Poochie Bells so I can provide clear communication when I need to go out.

Crate Trained
Yes. I’m crated when my foster family is away from the home. I have free roam in the house otherwise with my furry foster siblings. I sleep on a dog bed in my foster family’s room at night and snuggle on the couch for naps. I should be able to be completely out of a crate soon.

House Manners
Good for an older puppy, but you still must PUPPY PROOF as I’m young!!! I’ve not been destructive in my foster home. I do have a confession…I’m a messy drinker. It’s like I have a hole in my lip and water goes all over the floor when I drink from my water bowl. Keep a hand towel, etc. close to do a quick clean up. I beg for human food, but I don’t try and get food off the table or counters. Get ready share your healthy delicacies and save a bit for me when you’re done, please.

Leash Manners
Great on leash on my “Walk Your Dog With Love” harness. I even walk with a loose leash on my own most of the time. I also walk wonderfully with my furry foster siblings on our “pack walks”. I need both physical exercise and mental stimulation so allowing me to sniff on my casual walks is important.

Exercise
Put on your tennis shoes and let’s go!!! Walks, jogging, hiking, swimming and fun adventures are all good for me. I love to walk and I’m great on leash, so I’m the perfect exercise companion. I’m an active, older puppy so must get significant daily exercise and playtime. Running and playing with other dogs is important to meet my social and exercise needs. Remember to exercise my brain for mental stimulation…lick mats, frozen Kongs/Toppls, dog puzzles, etc.

Car Rides
I enjoy car rides, so I’m ready for a road trip. Please let me safely put my head out the window as I love to sniff the air or I might just lie down in the back seat. I’m a great road trip companion.

Basic Commands
Sit, Down (Lie Down), Stay/Wait. I’m super smart and eager to please so my potential to learn is endless.

Things I need in my Forever Home
- Active family that likes to exercise daily by taking lots of walks/runs, hikes, swimming and fun outdoor adventures. I need a family that loves exercise and fun outdoor activities and wants a doggy companion by their side
- Someone who doesn’t work, works from home or works part time as I’m used to my family being home with me and my furry siblings. I thrive in this environment because I’m young, active and need someone with the time to commit to my exercise and training
- Positive reinforcement obedience training classes REQUIRED – this will help us bond and build our relationship and it’s so much fun. ***AGN recommends DogsandKat.com
- Would enjoy another nice, active, young dog to run and play with who will share toys with me.
- Would be fine as an only dog as long as you’re my ultimate companion and true best buddy You’ll also need a plan for me to have dog friends to play with on a regular basis as I LOVE playing with other dogs
- Children should be older, sturdy on their feet and know how to respect the boundaries of a dog
I’m a WONDERFUL older puppy! So, if you’re looking for a young LOVE BUG who’s super sweet and craves affection, I’m your perfect pup! I’m an older puppy and everything that comes with that, so be ready to commit time and energy to meet my needs. I require lots of exercise and mental stimulation. I have a heart full of love to share with you, so let’s make a lifetime of memories together!
