Meet Lulu
Hi, I’m Lulu. I’m a 1 year old Goldendoodle. I weigh approximately 50 pounds.
I was surrendered to AGN because my family was unable to meet my needs. I was treated unkindly and isolated from my family which broke my puppy heart. Being alone made me sad. I’m now learning the world outside of isolation experiencing the kindness of humans. I’m thriving with my foster family and learning how to enjoy life. I’ll need someone who understands my sad past, but focuses on my wonderful future! Could you be my special someone?

Status with People
Sweetly shy at first when meeting new people, but quickly become your friend. Interested in meeting new people, but tentative at first. Slow to warm up to large men based on my past (sometimes I’ll run and hide from them). Once I trust you, I’m a super loving and snuggly pup. Good with older children, but no experience with young children.
Status with Dogs
Good with other dogs. Can be overwhelmed with too many dogs at once, but then love them all! I like both genders and all sizes, but they need to be big enough to truly run and play with me. I love to play, play, play! I’d run, wrestle and play with my furry foster siblings non-stop if they wanted. I’d do best with active dogs who enjoy playing, running and romping. I can be like the annoying little sister who always wants to play, LOL! Sometimes a human needs to redirect me to other fun things. I assume every dog friend likes to play as much as I do, and not all dogs like that. I’d likely annoy a senior dog.
Status with Cats
Cats unknown, but likely would want to play.
Favorite Toys
I LOVE TOYS!!!! I always like to carry a toy around in my mouth. I love stuffies the most! Chew bones are great, too. I haven’t mastered fetch with the ball yet, but I’m smart so keep playing ball with me. For now, I like to chase the pups who are chasing the ball.
Energy Level
High energy like any older puppy! I’m fast as lightening when I run. I’m active and energetic outside with my furry foster siblings, but will settle down for snuggles on the couch with my humans. I need lots of physical exercise, mental stimulation and canine enrichment.
House Trained
Yes for the most part, but you must make sure I actually go or I’ll have an accident inside. Sometimes, I get so involved in playing that I forget to go. Stay outside with me long enough and give me a treat within 3 seconds of me going potty to encourage me to go.
***AGN recommends that you train my to Poochie Bells so I can provide clear communication when I need to go out.
Crate Trained
No. I have free roam with my foster siblings if my foster family is away. I sleep on a dog bed in my foster parent’s bedroom at night. I’ll get up on the bed only if you invite me.
House Manners
PUPPY PROOF!!! I’m your typical older puppy who can sometimes be puppy mischievous. Put up your socks! I’m a lover of socks and like to create a “design” to expose your toes 🙂 I enjoy playing with anything fabric and oven mitts. I counter surf and I’m good at it. The problem is solved if you keep tempting items off the counter tops and items off the floor. Remember that I’m an older puppy and learning.
Leash Manners
Work in progress. I’m just learning to walk on a leash as I was never exposed to one as a puppy. Leash walking every single day is important for me. Since it’s a bit scary for me right now, I walk about 1 mile per day with my furry foster sibling to help me. I need lots of encouragement and praise. I need both physical exercise, canine enrichment activities and mental stimulation so allowing me to sniff on my casual walks is important, especially as I learn.
Exercise
Older pup with high energy so must get significant daily exercise. I get a lot of exercise in my foster home playing with my furry foster siblings. I like to run like the wind and could win an award for my “zoomies”. I need lots of time to run and play with my dog friends and daily walks or hikes. A tired pup is a good pup so lots of exercise is key for me.
Car Rides
I’m great in the car and love to go. I might even nap in the backseat. Since I love to go in the car, it’s a great way to practice my leash learning…. let’s head out to some fun places to walk or hike.
Things I need in my Forever Home
- Someone who understands what I’ve been through and is committed to helping me heal, build confidence and communicates gently with me. I would not do well with loud voices towards me, around me or forceful treatment (no dog would!).
- Active family that likes to exercise daily by taking lots of walks/runs, hikes, swimming and fun outdoor adventures – I need lots and lots of exercise and playtime.
- Someone who doesn’t work, works from home or works part time. I do not do well being left alone. I’ve spent my life in complete isolation, so I want to be with you or with my dog siblings at all times. I need a lot of human interaction. I’m used to my foster mom being home with me and my furry siblings most of the time. I thrive in this environment. I’m young and active and need someone with the time to commit to my exercise, training and healing from my past.
- Force Free/Positive Reinforcement obedience training classes are REQUIRED – This will help us bond and build our relationship. It’s so much fun. I’d likely be good at agility. This would be great to help build my confidence. ***AGN recommends dogsandkat.com
- I MUST have a young/adult active dog that will play with me as I love to play with other dogs and do not do well alone.
If you’re looking for a wonderful Goldendoodle who’s an energetic older pup that settles down to snuggle, you won’t find a sweeter more loving, fun, happy dog than me. I’m waiting for that special someone who understands that I have a sad past, but a bright future. Someone who’ll maximize my potential and offer me unconditional love….and stuffy toys!
