Become A Foster To Save Golden Lives

Adopt a Golden Nashville is only limited to the Golden lives we can rescue by the number of foster homes we have! Will you help us save Golden lives?

AGN does not have a shelter or boarding facility. We rely solely on our foster homes to provide a safe, loving and stable temporary home. The main role of a foster is to be a “bridge” from a Golden’s past to its future with its forever family. A Golden will be in a foster home for a minimum of two weeks up to several weeks to evaluate the dog’s personality, behaviors and needs. Fosters provide love, patience and basic positive reinforcement training to prepare the Golden to establish relationships with people and other dogs.

Sometimes AGN has dogs with special needs or serious medical issues who are in their foster homes for several months recovering from things such as malnourishment, severe trust issues, a pregnant dog who will have puppies, acute and chronic medical conditions, surgeries, heartworm treatment, etc. These Goldens need a foster with more advanced knowledge who is committed for a longer time than normal.

Occasionally AGN has Goldens come in that are not considered adoptable. It could be a Golden with cancer, senior Golden with major orthopedic challenges, etc. Forever Fosters provide loving homes to these dogs for the rest of their lives.  AGN pays all medical bills for Forever Fosters. The foster home provides food, toys, an orthopedic bed and unconditional love.

AGN fully vets and pays for all medical expenses for all foster dogs, plus basic supplies needed.

AGN always has an urgent need for foster homes with no other pets!

If you are interested in fostering one of our Goldens, please submit an application.
