Adopt a Golden Nashville does not have a shelter. We rely solely on our foster home network to provide a safe, loving and stable temporary home to get our dogs ready for adoption. It’s simple: the more people who open their homes for fostering, the more dogs we can save. It’s a rewarding way to give to our organization and it’s a critical part of what we do. FOSTERS ARE HEROES!

We have a constant need for foster homes. AGN fully vets and covers all medical expenses for the foster dog. We also provide holistic food, preventative medicines (flea/tick and heartworm), dog beds and crates to foster families.

Goldens are waiting for rescue at shelters, but we must have fosters in order to save them. AGN is only limited in how many dogs we can help by the number of foster homes we have. We need YOU!

We have needs for several types of fosters:

Regular Fosters - Regular foster homes foster a dog for a minimum of two weeks or until a forever home is found for the dog. You will never be stuck with a dog. If you need us to move the dog or you are going out of town, just let us know.

Special Needs Fosters - Special Needs fosters take care of dogs with known health issues such as heartworms as the dog goes through treatment; a pregnant dog coming in from a shelter that will have puppies; a dog who is known to have a condition such as epilepsy, severe orthopedic issues or anything else that requires a little bit more advanced knowledge. These fosters will have the foster dogs a longer period of time.

Puppy Fosters - Puppies are a handful and require constant care and attention. We don't often have puppies in rescue, but when we do, we need a foster home that wants to raise the puppies until they are old enough for adoption. A puppy foster must not be gone long hours.

Short Term Fosters - Take care of an AGN foster dog while their regular foster is on vacation, family emergency or while the dog is in transit. Short term fosters may foster a dog from 1 - 2 days to 1 - 2 weeks.

We always have an urgent need for regular foster homes and short term foster homes with no other pets.
